Fishing remains steady at Wister Lake heading into August, according to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. As of late July, the lake’s elevation was normal and stable with a water temperature of 91 degrees and stained conditions. Largemouth bass are fair on plastic baits and worms around brush structure, while channel catfish are good on grasshoppers around flats and crappie are good on jigs and minnows around brush structure, according to the report submitted by James Williams, game warden stationed in LeFlore County.
