Historic weapons will be preserved per new state law

My House Bill 1185 got signed into law last week. This will prohibit law enforcement agencies from destroying weapons considered to have historic military value. The weapons are instead to be donated to local units of veterans’ organizations where they can be used for honor guard salutes at veterans’ funerals or other memorial ceremonies.
Commissioners approve $8.4 million bond for Pocola schools
The LeFlore County Board of County Commissioners met in a regular business meeting Monday at the courthouse in Poteau with Chairman Jamie Oliver presiding. Also present were Vice Chairman Mike Parker, Member Josh Blaylock and County Clerk Kelli Ford.
Last week to request absentee ballots
The deadline to request absentee ballots by mail is approaching. Applications must be received by the County Election Board no later than 5 p.m. June 1.
