LeFlore County commissioners certify election results

LeFlore County commissioners met Monday for their regular business meeting, taking action on a full agenda that included certifying election results, vacating a plat, and approving three fiber optic installation permits.

Chairman Jamie Oliver called the meeting to order at 9 a.m., with Vice Chair Mike Parker, Member Josh Blaylock and County Clerk Kelli Ford present.

Commissioners approved the minutes from the June 29 meeting, along with routine purchase orders and monthly fee reports from Solid Waste, the Health Department and the County Clerk. Blanket purchase orders on file with the County Clerk’s office were also approved. No new business, contract labor agreements, or transfers of appropriation were presented, and commissioners said a burn ban is not needed at this time.

Commissioners approved a resolution setting maximum monthly highway expenditures for July, along with the Treasurer’s monthly report of officers for June.

In one of the meeting’s key actions, commissioners acknowledged the certified election results for LeFlore County Commissioner District No. 1.

Commissioners also approved a resolution to vacate the plat for Station Road Pines, located in Section 23, Township 8 North, Range 23 East.

On the public safety front, commissioners acknowledged a 2026 Homeland Security Task Force Strategic Initiative agreement between the Drug Enforcement Administration and the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office covering local overtime cost reimbursement.

Commissioners also approved a close-out document and completion affidavit for KEDDO REAP project K1035-26.

Three separate public service and pipeline crossing permits submitted by Oklahoma Windstream LLC for fiber optic cable installation were approved:

  • One at 101 Deertail Drive in Poteau, District 3
  • One along 212th Avenue in Section 2, Township 7 North, Range 25 East, District 2
  • One along Old Wister Highway in Sections 3, 10 and 9, Township 6 North, Range 25 East, District 2

All motions passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned on a motion by Oliver, seconded by Blaylock, with Oliver, Parker and Blaylock all voting yes.
