Alberta G. Caudell obituary

Alberta G. Caudell of Poteau was born Feb. 27, 1937 in Heavener to William Lee and Edna (Nelson) Green and passed away on April 11, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 89.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener with Brother Brad Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Survivors are two daughters Dianna Legare and husband Colin, and Joanna Evans and husband GW “Dub”; one son Hoyt Mathew “Matt” Caudell and wife Debbie; one sister, Elizabeth Montgomery; six grandchildren Amanda Caudell and husband Lee Raymond, Tre’ Evans and wife Amanda, Christina Hulett and husband Micah, Carrie Manners and husband Sam, Cassie Hempen and husband Tyler, and Paden Evans and wife Whitnie; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents William Lee and Edna Green; her husband of 65 years, Hoyt Caudell; and one brother, Orval O’Lee Green.

Alberta and her husband Hoyt owned and operated Caudell Electric Sales & Service for many years in Heavener. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She loved gardening and spending time with her family. Alberta will be deeply missed by many whom loved and knew her.

The family wants to give a special thanks to Blevlyn Benefield and Mary Ann Waller. Thank you for being there when we needed you the most. Your kindness and care mean the world to us. We’re so grateful for the love you show each day.

Pallbearers are Tre’ Evans, Paden Evans, Patrick McNamara, Tony Smith and Jerry Don Smith.

Viewing is from  noon until 7 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
