On March 9, 1959, the Barbie doll was introduced at the American Toy Fair in New York City. Created by Ruth Handler, Barbie was the first mass-produced adult-featured toy doll in the U.S., standing eleven inches tall with blond hair. This marked a significant milestone in toy history.
