Choctaw Nation Health Services Authority (CNHSA) opened a new Wellness Center in Talihina. Originally built into the Diabetes Wellness Center building, the new facility makes the 16th Wellness Center for the Nation.
At approximately 10,600 square feet with a half-court gym, general workout area and multifunctional room, the Wellness Center offers year-round, all-weather access to tribal citizens in the Talihina area. The project was built using funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
“With heart disease and diabetes at the top of the list of diagnoses for our patients, we feel strongly about providing access to exercise equipment across Southeastern Oklahoma,” says Chase Henson, Wellness Director for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. “We’re so proud to open this beautiful center and can’t wait to see it full of our members!”
The Wellness Center is located at 808 Dallas St. Talihina, OK 74571 and is available for tribal members and associates.
