Floyd E. “Butch” Dobson, 82, of Spiro passed away peacefully on Aug. 23, 2025 in Spiro.

Butch was born on June 7, 1943, in Bell, California, to Geneva A. (Bradshaw) Hill and Jessie A. Hill. Lance Corporal Dobson was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Following his military service, he dedicated 32 years to the Texas Department of Corrections before retirement.
A man full of humor and energy, Butch lived life with joy and spirit. He loved fishing, visiting the casino to play slot machines, and had a passion for singing and dancing. He never missed a chance to cheer for his Houston Astros or enjoy a good western. Above all, he loved his family deeply—especially teasing his grandchildren, which brought him great happiness.
He is survived by his daughters Gina Grant and husband Jack, Shellene M. Hensley, Jessica Medina and husband Adrian, and Graye Dobson and husband George; grandchildren Nick Grant and wife Amanda, Nathan Grant and wife Randa, Cody Hensley and wife Halee, Madison Price and husband Tim, Allison Medina, Landon Medina, Isabelle Medina, Caroline Medina, Rocky Nelson, Jr. and Zachary Nelson; 15 great-grandchildren; his sister Suzanne Kasper and husband Dan; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Carol Dobson; his son, Rocky Nelson, Sr.; and his brother, Jesse A. Hill, Jr.
