Gaila Bass of Heavener obituary

Gaila Bass of Heavener was born Oct. 21, 1961 in Dallas, Texas to J.W. and Bertie Lee (Hass) Bass and passed away Sept. 9, 2025 surrounded by family and friends in Heavener at the age of 63.

Memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Gaila was a longtime resident of the area and a caregiver. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her friends, especially her time at Linda’s 128 Bar and Grill. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the woods, hunting and gardening. Gaila will be deeply missed by so many.

Survivors are her significant other, Cary Sizemore; one sister Carolyn Seabourn and husband Kenneth; one niece Alecia Kaufman and husband Brandon; three nephews Darin Seabourn and wife Deborah, Jason Bass and wife Nikki, and Sam Bass and wife Sarah; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents J.W. and Bertie Bass; one brother, Jerry Bass; and a great niece, Bailee McNear.

The family wants to give a special thanks to the Heavener Nursing Home and the Heart of Hospice for the wonderful care that was shown to Gaila. We cannot thank you all enough.
