George Harold Chester, 89,was born on Oct. 7, 1936 in Poteau to Winnie (Black) Chester and John David Chester and passed away on April 7, 2026 in Sallisaw.

He was a proud Vietnam Veteran who was honored with a Quilt of Valor.
A gathering of friends and family is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau.
Survivors include his daughter George Ann Noe and husband Ross R. of Fort Smith, Arkansas; grandchildren Shanda Jones and Christie Lee; and great-grandchildren Holden Lee, Carter Lee and Parker Spahn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers John Chester, Joe Chester and Richard Chester.
