Graveside services for Lucille Newby Mote set

Graveside services for Lucille Newby Mote, 92, of Wister are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Maxey Cemetery in Wister with Reverend Jim Cook officiating. Burial will follow, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

She was born May 2, 1933, in Wister to Vangie (Hawkins) Adams and Truman Adams and passed away Sept. 20, 2025, in Heavener.

Survivors are her children Kathy Yandell and husband Lance, Brenda Newby, and Steve Newby; grandchildren Alissa Bost, Daniel Bost, Jr., Tyler Newby, Bentli Newby and Erica Newby; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jimmy Don Newby; her brothers, Denver Adams, Omer Adams, and Howard Adams; her sisters, Laverne Moran and Lorene Upchurch; and her husband, Bill Mote.
