Heavener and Spiro to play in districts Friday

Heavener and Spiro will play for the third time this season in a Class 3A district basketball game at 6 p.m. Friday at Spiro.

Spiro’s girls won both previous contests 51-45 at home on Dec. 16 and 55-45 on Jan. 16 at Heavener.

The boys have split their two games. Spiro won the first game at home, 55-45, while the Wolves won the second game at home, 65-62.

Spiro’s girls are 17-5 and Heavener is 11-13.

The Bulldogs are 9-13 while the Wolves enter district play with a 7-16 record. Both schools advance to the regionals next week with the winners playing Tuesday and the losers on Thursday.
