Heavener boys
Heavener boys to play Kiefer in the opening round of the Class 3A regional basketball tournament at approximately 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Checotah High School, right after the finish of the Spiro girls also playing Kiefer at 6 p.m.

Heavener’s boys are 12-14 overall while the Trojans enter the contest with a 19-5 record. The winner advances to the regional championship game Saturday while the loser plays the Antlers/Valliant winner 2:30 p.m. Friday, also at Checotah.
Heavener’s girls got a first-round bye and does not play until Friday.
