Heavener’s boys run at state meet

Heavener’s boys finish eighth at the Class 3A state cross country meet Saturday, posting the third best team scores for teams in eastern Oklahoma behind champion Sequoyah-Tahlequah and Cascia Hall.

The Wolves posted 58 points, only four behind Cascia Hall.

Morgan Altsatt was Heavener’s top runner, finishing 28th with a time of 17:56.18. The individual champion finished at 16:02.13.

Oher Heavener runners were Geren Palmer, who finished 45th; along with Jerrod Boss; Parker Brand, who was Heavener’s only senior; Martin Vasquez; Slayde Cockburn; and Diego Cruz.
