Jesse Boyd Leatherwood obituary

Jesse Boyd Leatherwood of Howe was born March 8, 1958 in Oklahoma City to Valgene “Butch” and Helen (Barnhart) Leatherwood and passed away Nov.r 10, 2025 in Howe at the age of 67.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener with Dr. Jeff Beshear officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener..

Jesse was a long-time resident of the area, a graduate of Howe High School, a member of Trinity Baptist Church, and worked at Bachco on lead production line. During his high school and college years, he participated in rodeos and was a member of the NFR. He was also an avid outdoorsman. Jesse loved spending time with his family and friends.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Jesse will be deeply missed by all whom knew and loved him.

Survivors are his wife, Lisa Leatherwood, of the home; his mother, Helen Leatherwood, of Howe; one daughter Katie Morrison and husband Justin of Howe; one son Dawson Leatherwood and fiancé Maria Morrison of Howe; one sister Elaine Self and husband Randy of Oklahoma City; one brother Dwayne Leatherwood and wife Sherry of Howe; four grandchildren Eastern Leatherwood, Jazmine Morrison, Adley Leatherwood and Ryleigh Leatherwood; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other loved ones, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Valgene “Butch” Leatherwood.

Viewing is from 1 until 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until service time Friday. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
