LeFlore County football teams go 2-0 Friday

LeFlore County football team were 2-0 Friday night to lift the county’s record to 5-2 in week 8 games.

Poteau defeated its biggest rival, Sallisaw, 28-13, while Panama blanked Haskell, 19-0.

The Pirates improve to 7-1 overall, 4-1 in district play. Sallisaw is now 6-2 and 4-1.

After Broken Bow defeated Ada Friday, there are now four teams tied for first place in District 4A-4 with Ada, Broken Bow, Poteau and Sallisaw all with one district loss.

Poteau plays at Hilldale before ending the regular season at home against Broken Bow in what should be a monster game.

Panama’s win combined with Pocola’s win at Hartshorne Thursday knocked Haskell and Hartshorne out of a four-way tie in district play. Now, the Razorbacks and Indians are tied for second place and play this week at Pocola.

Panama improves to 6-2 and 4-1 while Haskell is 4-4 and 3-2.
