Memorial service for Ronnie George Broom, 70, of Spiro is 10 a.m. on Thursday at Fairview Cemetery in Panama with Russell Jones officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro.

He married Rita (Walker) Broom on June 18, 1982 in Spiro. Ronnie was a man who truly loved the outdoors and took great pride in working on cars, caring for his yard, and tackling any project he set his mind to. He had a special gift for bringing old cars back to life, which was one of his greatest passions. Ronnie took pride in everything he did and was known for his strong, commanding personality that naturally drew people to him. He was highly respected and deeply loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Broom; one daughter SuRonna McAlister and husband Brian; one granddaughter Aspen Hamilton and husband Ethan; one great-granddaughter, Isabella McAlister; one sister, Doris Summers; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruby Broom; and two sisters Bobbie Didway and Georgie Vandagriff.
