
Talihina Golden Tigers and the Pocola Indians secured their spots in the Oklahoma high school football playoff semifinals with key victories on Friday. These wins put both teams one step closer to the 2025 OSSAA State Championship game.

Top-ranked Talihina (now 12-0) dominated their Class A-II matchup, defeating Headton (9-3) with a commanding 40-7 win.
Pocola takes down Fairvew
Meanwhile, the fifth-ranked Pocola Indians (10-2) pulled off a minor upset in their quarterfinal game in the Class A-I playoffs, beating No. 3 Fairview 18-13. The Indians jumped out to an early 18-0 lead before holding off Fairview’s comeback.

Talihina will play fifth-ranked Fairland, 10-2. Talihina’s district foe Allen plays Hominy in the other semifinal
Pocola gets another game with second-ranked Tonkawa (11-1) in the A-I semifinal.
Pocola opened with a 52-14 win over Tonkawa in the opening round of the 2024 playoffs. Rejoice Christian and Pawhuska, which defeated Panama in the opening round, meet in the other semifinal game.
