Oklahoma (7-1, 0-0 Big 12) matched its best start through eight duals since the 2013-14 season.

OU opened the day against Tarleton State in a historic matchup for the Texans, who compete in the NWCA’s Southwest Conference. Sunday marked Tarleton State’s first dual against a Division I opponent since the program’s inception in 2023.

The Sooners saw five wrestlers make their season dual debuts: Koufax Christensen (125), Kaden Smith (133), Peyten Kellar (165), Anthony Harris Jr. (197) and Bradley Hill (285). Oklahoma tallied seven bonus-point wins, including four first-period falls, as the Sooners rolled to a 41-9 victory.

Oklahoma faced SIUE in its second dual of the afternoon. Trailing 13-9 after seven bouts, the Sooners’ upperweights took control, earning bonus-point wins across the final three matches to secure the comeback. No. 11 Brian Soldano pinned his opponent at 184 pounds, while No. 9 DJ Parker (197) and No. 24 Juan Mora (285) clinched the dual with major decisions. Oklahoma won six of the 10 bouts to claim a 23-13 victory.

OU closed the quad with a dominant showing against Duke. Redshirt freshman Tyson Charmoli returned to the lineup after missing a month of action and recorded an 18-5 major decision over Riley Rowan. Redshirt sophomore Eli Cordy made his first dual start of the season, earning an 18-4 major decision against David Hussey. Duke forfeited three weight classes, sealing a 40-6 win for the Sooners.

Up next, Oklahoma will enjoy a holiday break before traveling to Stillwater for the 190th edition of Bedlam wrestling against No. 5 Oklahoma State on Jan. 11. First bout from Gallagher-Iba Arena is set for 2 p.m. CT and will stream on ESPN+.
