The Wolves evened their record at 1-1 with a 56-49 win in front of a noisy crowd while the Lady Wolves improved to 2-0 with a 75-43 win in the earlier game.

Heavener is home again Tuesday against Panama.

Boys

With Heavener holding a 47-45 lead in the fourth quarter, Palmer stole the ball and hit a layup to give the Wolves a four-point lead. He added a pair of free throws and then with 12 seconds left and Antlers trailing 54-49, Palmer ended any hope the Bearcats had of coming back by blocking a shot and then hitting one of two free throws.

Freshman Ryland Roberts led Heavener with 18 points while Brandon Sanchez and Palmer each had 12 points.

Heavener needed all of the late game heroics as Antler’s Case Moore hit four 3’s in the third quarter and finished with 22 points to lead the Bearcats. Max Duncan added 16.

Antlers drops to 1-1.
