Funeral service honoring Paul’s life is 1 p.m. Friday at the Covenant Church in Poteau with Brother Keith Williams and Brother Ron Billings officiating. Interment will follow in Heavener Memorial Park with military honor rights from the Poteau DAV Chapter #63, under the care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Paul was a lifelong resident of the area and dedicated rancher.  He was a cherished member and song leader of Covenant Church in Poteau, Oklahoma. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and held a deep sense of duty and honor throughout his life.

His warm spirit and kindness touched many lives, and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving family members are his wife of 73 years, Dona Lee Cast, of the home; two daughters Paula Kay Hackler and husband Gene of Poteau, and Pamela Jean Jacobs of Bixby; one son Gregory Dale Cast and wife Darlynn of Eufaula; five grandchildren Shawnna Norris, Todd Hackler, Eric Hackler, Neal Cast and Desiree (Cast) Lawson; 13 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Pearl Cast; and three sisters Faye Billings, Margie Sheppard and Evelyn Hewlett.

Pallbearers are Todd Hackler, Eric Hackler, Neal Cast, Mitchell Stacy, Nick Norris and Roger Sheppard. Honorary pallbearer is Larry Stacy

Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday with family visiting with friends from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Dowden-Robert Funeral & Cremation Center, 28918 205th Avenue in Poteau. To sign Paul’s online guestbook please visit www.dowdenrobertsfuneralhome.com.
