Pocola is one game away from another championship after defeating Poteau, 7-2, Tuesday in the winners bracket finals.

Pocola’s opponent in the first championship game at 7 p.m. Thursday at Panama will be decided earlier.

In the opening game Thursday, Wister and Panama play at 2:30 p.m. (instead of the late game Tuesday) with the winner playing Howe at 4 p.m.

The winner of that game will play Poteau at 5:30 p.m. with that winner also advancing to the championship game at 7 p.m. against a rested Pocola team.

Pocola only needs to win its opener Thursday to capture the LCT. The team coming out of the losers bracket will need to beat the Lady Indians, who are undefeated in the tournament, so far, twice to win the championship.

Pocola downed Howe in a semifinal game, 2-0, while Poteau edged Wister, 3-2, earlier in the day, setting the stage for Pocola’s win over Poteau.

Howe bounced back to defeat Talihina, 15-3, to advance to play Panama, which defeated Cameron, 14-0, to stay alive.

In earlier losers bracket games, Cameron edged LeFlore, 7-6, Whitesboro blanked Heavener, 10-0, and Panama smashed Spiro, 16-2. Talihina then defeated Whitesboro, 7-5, before Talihina was eliminated by Howe, 15-3.
