Poteau students of the month for the seventh and eighth grade center.

Eighth grade

Name: Macy Nixon

Parents: David and Karen Nixon

Electives: Athletics, advanced art, library/office.

Her favorite school memory was: “In seventh grade at the Hilldale track meet. It was a nice day outside and me and my friends all had so much fun.”

Name: Nolan Phillips

Parents: Adam and Beth Phillips

Electives: Athletics, library aid, weightlifting.

His favorite school memory is: “When I deflected a pass in football and won us the Fort Gibson football game and Coach Skelton was just as happy as me.”

Seventh grade

Name: Aria Hayes

Parents: Logan and Julie Hayes

Electives: Choir, media and library worker.

Her favorite school memory: “When I was nervous about doing my first play, but everybody told me I would love it and I did. I trusted them because if I did not I would probably never step out of my comfort zone and try new things!”

Name: Bishop King

Parents: Johanna King and Keno Kingand, jazz band, vex robotics.

His favorite school memory was: “At my old school we had this thing called PEAK and you had to pass a test to get in and it was so much fun. We did chess, Rubik’s Cube, and fun projects.”
