Richard Alfred Garrett, 79, of Poteau passed away Sept. 6, 2025 in Poteau and was born Jan. 30, 1946, in Summers Point, New Jersey, to Carrie (Adams) Garrett and Alfred Garrett.

A Celebration of Life service is 2 p.m. Friday at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Clyde Hess officiating, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home https://www.evansandmillerfuneralhome.com/of Poteau.
Surviving family members are his wife, Anita Garrett; his son Jeff Garrett and wife Diverly; grandchildren Fiona Mapanao, Lykah Mapanao, Annie Garrett and Jaira Garrett; sisters Kathy Rosie, Barbara Bohs, and Marie Duble; and brothers Ken Garrett, Greg Garrett, Bob Garrett and Rob Garrett.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carrie and Alfred Garrett; and his son, Richard A. Garrett, Jr.
