Ronald Joe Self of Summerfield was born Nov. 23, 1955 in Altus to Billy Earl and Mary Jo (French) Self and passed away Aug. 31, 2025 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, surrounded by his family.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Cremation Center of Poteau. LeFlore County’s only on-site crematory

He was a life-long resident of the area and a heavy equipment operator for Robinson Construction. He enjoyed tending to his garden and was always eager to help anyone in need. Ronald Joe will be missed by all who knew him.

Ronald Joe is survived by the mother of his children and life-long friend, Karen Perry, of Summerfield; two daughters April Self of Howe, and Carie Jo Williams and husband Ross of Heavener; one honorary son, Jesse Perry, of Summerfield; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; a special friend and caregiver, Rhonda Mathis, of Panama; numerous nieces, nephews, other loved ones, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers Ronny Self, Kenny Self and Keith Self
