Ryan James Moore obituary

Ryan James Moore of Heavener was born May 20, 2002 in Nocona, Texas to Derek Lyn, Sr. and Melissa Rose (Leezy) Moore and passed away Feb. 5, 2026 in Idabel at the age 23.

Ryan’s funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Freedom House Fellowship Church in Heavener with Brother Sam Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park, under the care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Danny Lee Moore, Sr. and paternal uncle, Danny Lee Moore, II.

Ryan was larger than life, a bright light in the world of everyone who knew him. He was a fierce protector of the people he loved and would give the shirt off his back (literally) to anyone in need, even a stranger. If he loved you, he told you, and he meant it. He also found great joy in pestering the people he loved and went to great lengths to make people laugh.

He was known to dive deep into conspiracy theories and had a wealth of knowledge about just about anything. He was extremely competitive, almost always turning the simplest things into a competition.

Card games were always intense when Ryan was involved; there were always cheating accusations when he didn’t win.

He loved to be outside, especially on the water or around a fire with his brothers. He loved music and loved to sing loudly, confident he could be an American Idol winner. He lived his life in the same way, loudly and with confidence. He was unapologetically himself, quick-witted, and had the best sense of humor.

He adored his wife, Bryleigh, which was apparent to anyone who watched them together. The Lord brought them together in a time when He knew they needed each other. After their first time together, they spent every spare second after that with one another. She and their boys were the most important things in his world. He loved to wrestle their boys, especially right before bedtime, then wondered why they didn’t want to sleep. When their daddy was home, he was the one to put the boys to bed because mom just couldn’t do the trick when dad was around.

When they were all home together, you could find them piled together on the couch. Bryleigh and Ryan loved to go bowling (he won every time!), going to dinner, and watching movies at home (where he claimed he always picked the best movies).

Ryan lived boldly, loved deeply, and showed up fully for the people who mattered most to him. Above all else, he adored his wife, Bryleigh, and took immense pride in the family they built together. Being her husband and the boys’ dad was the greatest joy of his life, and that love was evident in everything he did.

His laughter, confidence, and larger-than-life presence filled their home and will forever be woven into the memories they carry forward. While his absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled, his life was rich with purpose and love. The impact he made is not measured by time, but by the devotion he showed to his family and the countless lives he touched along the way. We take comfort in knowing that the same Lord who brought Ryan and Bryleigh together now holds him close, and that his legacy lives on through his boys, the stories shared, and the deep love he leaves behind.

Pallbearers are Derek Moore Sr., Derek Moore II, David Moore, Dillon Moore, Jonathan Moore, and Paul Davidson.

Honorary pallbearers are Duwayne Schiffner, Matthew Moore Sr., Marshall Moore, Matthew Moore II, Tyler Moore and Preston Moore.

Viewing for Ryan is from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener.
