Sue Horton obituary

Sue Horton, 84, of Panama passed away Jan. 21, 2026, in Panama.

Private services will be held at Miners Cemetery in McCurtain, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.

Sue was born Nov. 29, 1941, in Bates, Arkansas, to Reba Pauline (McCarley) Kirwin and M.L. Kirwin. She married the love of her life, Jerry Horton Jan. 30, 1960, in McCurtain, and they shared nearly 44 years of marriage together. He preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 2002.

Sue was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her Lord, her family, and her home deeply. A faithful servant of the Lord, she attended church regularly, was a prayer warrior, and found great comfort in her faith. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly her pride and joy. Sue was a member of the Bokoshe Church of Christ and a graduate of McCurtain High School, Class of 1959. She was also preceded in death by her parents M.L. and Reba Kirwin; her husband, Jerry Horton; and her brothers Pat Kirwin and Jerry Dale Kirwin.

Survivors are her daughter Carla Lynn Bare and husband Greg; her son Scott Horton and wife Shannon; grandchildren Lindsey Eisenlohr and husband Michael, Garrison Bare and wife Kara, Breckin Horton, Kirwin Horton and wife Camille, and Caden Horton; great-grandchildren Augustus, Evelyn Sue, Benjamin and Luke; her brother Jack Kirwin and wife Karen; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and loved ones.
