We had a great meeting last week with Doug Linehan, the executive director of the Oklahoma Tax Commission. We had 28 attendees. He spent more than an hour speaking and answering questions from individuals about their taxes and returns and from tax preparers. He explained where the agency was when he took the job as director, where they are now and where he hopes to go in the future.
The Oklahoma Transportation Commission recently approved the county improvements for roads and bridges (CIRB) plan for fiscal years 2027 to 2030. The updated five-year plan includes nearly $950 million in scheduled upgrades to 808 miles of roads and 238 bridges that are maintained by the counties rather than by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
LeFlore County Sheriff Rodney Derryberry got some good news last week. His office will receive $250,000 to spend on operations, including training, technology, equipment, capital improvements and more.
