Unemployment rates rise in December.

Unemployment rates were higher in December in all 77 Oklahoma counties than they were in December of the previous year according to the latest report by the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.

Love County had the highest unemployment rate in the state at 6.5 percent and Hughes County had the second highest rate at 5.8 percent. Dewey and Texas Counties had the lowest rate at 2.2 percent.

LeFlore County’s rate for December was 4.6 percent compared to 3.6 percent in December of 2024. The county’s rate for November was 3.6 percent.

The rate increased from 4.5 percent in November of 2025. The county has the 62nd highest unemployment rate in Oklahoma for December.

For the month, LeFlore County had a workforce of 19,694 with 18,796 people employed and 898 people unemployed. That compared to a workforce of 19,703 in November with 18,809 people employed and 894 people unemployed.
