Venita Gail Goble obituary

Venita Gail Goble, 86, of Howe passed away June 4, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas and was born Sept. 12, 1938, in Bangs, Texas, to Iola (Everage) Montgomery and Otis J. Montgomery.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Jim Cook officiating. She will be laid to rest at Mountain View/Glendale Cemetery in Wister, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Survivors are her children Delores “Tuffy” LeBlanc and husband Layton of Howe, Lois “Lulu” Lampkin and husband D.B. of Wister, and Jeff Goble of Howe; grandchildren Charles Patterson and wife Angie of Arlington, Texas; Lanett Davis and husband Terry of Wister, Laran Patterson and wife Michelle of Heartland, Texas; Brett Lampkin and wife Andrea of Wister, and Vicki Schrack and husband John of Fort Smith, Arkansas; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters Helen Lane of Howe,  Joy Woolard of South Boston, Virginia; Mary Lynch and husband Don of San Antonio, Texas, and Marge Montgomery of Texas; and brothers-in-law Harold Goble and wife Carol, Ron Grover, and M.C. Ollar.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Goble; her parents; brothers Kenneth and Larry Montgomery; sister, Reba Quintilla; and sisters-in-law Betty Grover and Sue Ollar.

Pallbearers are Charles Patterson, Laran Patterson, Brett Lampkin, Adrian Moreno, Trey Davis and Terry Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Goble, Ronald Grover and M.C. Ollar.
