One of the more interesting games is between a pair of teams still looking for the first win as Morris (0-6 and 0-3) visits Spiro (0-6, 0-3). While both teams have struggled, at least one team will be happy after Thursday’s game.
Heavener (2-4 and 2-1) has the hardest test as the Wolves visit fifth-ranked Kingston (5-1 and 3-0) in what is a ridiculous three and a half hour trip to play a district game on a work night for many parents. The Wolves are coming off their best game in a 45-0 win over Roland last week while Kingston, the defending district champion, handed previously undefeated Bethel its first defeat, 73-44.
Poteau bounced back from a rare home loss to win at Glenpool last week, 28-17. The Pirates (5-1 and 2-1) need a win when they travel to Tulsa McLain (3-3 and 1-2) with difficult games looming against Sallisaw, Hilldale and Broken Bow for Poteau.
Panama (4-2 and 2-1) suffered its first district loss last week at Rejoice Christian, but the Razorbacks have a good shot at getting back on the winning side of things when they host Warner (1-5 and 0-3).
Pocola also bounced back from a loss two weeks ago with an easy win over Hulbert last week. The Indians (4-2 and 2-1) host winless Chouteau (0-6 and 0-3) as they continue to make a run for the playoffs.
The final game of the week has Arkoma (3-3 and 1-0) coming off a district win over Gans, facing a much tougher opponent as the Mustangs travel to play Wilson-Henryetta (3-2 and 1-0) in a matchup of two of the district leaders.
