Playoff positioning and district leads will be on the line for LeFlore County football teams in Week 7, with games scheduled for Thursday because of fall break.

Heavener looks to keep its playoff hopes alive, Talihina and Panama aim to remain atop their district standings, and Pocola and Poteau face key games in the playoff race.

Heavener hosts Roland for homecoming, facing a much-improved Rangers team after dominating the matchup the past two seasons.

The Wolves are 1-5 overall and 0-3 in district play. Roland is 3-3 and 1-2, with its lone district victory coming by forfeit over Spiro. Heavener is not scheduled to face Spiro until Week 10.

Poteau (4-2, 2-1) remains in the thick of the district race after last week’s narrow victory over Ada. The Pirates now face a surprising Stilwell team that is 5-1 overall and 2-1 in district play.

The Indians’ only loss came last week in a 20-12 decision against district-leading Sallisaw. A matchup that has typically favored Poteau now presents a significant challenge.

After a difficult non-district schedule, Panama has found its footing. The Razorbacks are 3-3 overall and unbeaten in district play at 3-0 heading into a tough home matchup against Coalgate (4-2, 2-1).

Coalgate suffered its first district loss last week at home against Pocola.

Pocola (4-2, 2-1) looks to strengthen its playoff position when it hosts Haskell (3-3, 2-1) Thursday.

Defending state champion Talihina has continued its dominant run this season. The Golden Tigers are 6-0 overall and 3-0 in district play heading into Thursday’s game at Central (4-2, 2-1), which is also pursuing a playoff berth.
