The LeFlore County Board of County Commissioners met in a regular business meeting Monday at the courthouse in Poteau with Chairman Jamie Oliver presiding. Also present were Vice Chairman Mike Parker, Member Josh Blaylock and County Clerk Kelli Ford.
The following action was taken:
The board approved minutes of the regular meeting held May 11, 2026; purchase orders and payroll as presented; and a monthly fee report as presented by the LeFlore County Election Board.
No transfer of appropriations, blanket purchase orders, new business or contract labor/service agreements were presented. The burn ban was not needed.
The board tabled division of Title I U.S. Forestry funds.
Commissioners approved a bid notice and resolution to accept sealed bids for the purchase of a new truck, with trade-in of a 2019 Ford F-150, to benefit the LeFlore County Assessors’ Office.
The board approved a bid notice and resolution to advertise for six-month county highway material bids, and a bid notice and resolution to advertise publication of the LeFlore County Commissioners Proceedings and Paid Claims for fiscal year 2026-2027.
Commissioners approved a resolution removing Pat Skinner as receiving officer from all Hodgen Fire Department accounts and replacing him with Ty Pilkington.
The board approved the re-appointment of Henry Burris to the Kibois Community Action Foundation, Inc. board of directors for a three-year term expiring May 18, 2029.
In the meeting’s most significant action, commissioners unanimously approved a resolution authorizing up to $8.4 million in lease revenue bonds on behalf of the LeFlore County Public Facilities Authority to fund construction, renovation and equipping of school buildings and facilities for Pocola Public Schools (Independent School District No. 07). The resolution also declared an emergency.
The board approved three flood plain development permit applications submitted by Oklahoma Telephone Company for construction within county right of way — two on Reichert Summerfield Road in Commissioner District 3 and one on Cline Road in Commissioner District 3.
The meeting adjourned with all members voting yes.
