Early voting begins Thursday for Aug. 25 election

In-person absentee voting, also known as early voting, for the Aug. 25 runoff primary election and state question elections begins Thursday. Early voting locations will be open Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Early voting

State questions

While the Aug. 25 election includes party runoff primaries for Democrats and Republicans, all registered voters in Oklahoma are eligible to vote on State Question 844 and State Question 846.

All voters — including Libertarians and independents — may also vote in any nonpartisan elections on the ballot and on local propositions. Voters do not need to participate in a party’s primary election in order to vote on the state questions or participate in nonpartisan or local elections.

Closed primaries

Voters are reminded that Oklahoma has closed primaries. For 2026, in order to participate in a party’s primary election or runoff primary election, voters must be registered with that party. More information about primary elections is available on the State Election Board website.

Election information

A list of early voting locations is available on the State Election Board website, along with the list of elections. Voters must vote in the county where they are registered. Sample ballots can be viewed and downloaded by logging into the OK Voter Portal.

Voters with questions should contact their county election board or the State Election Board at (405) 521-2391 or info@elections.ok.gov.
