Triple-digit temperatures kept cattle receipts light at sale barns across Oklahoma this week, according to the July 28 Oklahoma Market Report from the state Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.
Feeder steers held mostly steady while feeder heifers ran steady to lower at several locations, and slaughter cows trended higher at most auctions despite the thin trade.
The report also shows statewide drought conditions easing slightly to 64.30 percent of the state, average farm diesel prices climbing back above $4 per gallon, and most nitrogen fertilizer prices continuing to soften.
