Sallisaw scored late to defeat Poteau, 24-21, and finish an undefeated regular season (see STORY). The Black Diamons are district champions and play at home next week. The Pirates finished fourth in the district after Stilwell defeated Ada on Friday. After missing the playoffs for the first time since 2013 last year, Poteau is back in the playoffs.

Panama jumped out to an early 14-0 lead against Pocola in a game to decide the district championship, but couldn’t hang on to the lead as the Indians stormed back to win, 38-14.

Pocola tied with Coalgate for the district championship but enters the playoffs as the top seed out of the district due to a head-to-head win over the Wildcats. The Indians, now (8-2), host Morrison (5-5) in the opening round.

Panama (5-5) goes into the playoffs as the third seed due to the earlier win over Vian, which tied the Razorbacks for third place. The Razorbacks travel to Pawhuska (9-1), which finished second behind Pawnee in its district.

Talihina cruised to an easy, 63-8, victory over Liberty to finish the regular season undefeated and win its 24th straight victory. The Golden Tigers open defense of their state championship at home against Quapaw (5-5).
