Fishing remains the top local sports story in LeFlore County this weekend. As noted in Saturday’s coverage, the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission approved a new daily crappie limit of 20 fish at Lake Eufaula, effective immediately. Arkansas won its 11th men’s track and field national title — the Razorbacks’ first in several years — with Oklahoma’s Ralford Mullings winning back-to-back discus titles in the process. Ranker
NATIONAL
The Los Angeles Dodgers are on a tear. They outscored the San Diego Padres 19-5 over the weekend, winning both games of the series to stay atop the National League West at 54-30, the best record in baseball.
Boston swept the Yankees at home, winning Saturday 4-1 and Sunday 5-4, putting more pressure on New York in the AL East.
The Chicago Cubs took two of three from Milwaukee, keeping pace in the NL Central race.
FIFA WORLD CUP
The 2026 World Cup group stage continued through the weekend with several notable results:
Belgium routed New Zealand 5-1. Argentina defeated Jordan 3-1 to stay on track. England beat Panama 2-0. Congo DR upset Uzbekistan 3-1. Algeria and Austria played to a wild 3-3 draw. Canada beat South Africa 1-0 on Sunday.
Today’s matches: Brazil vs. Japan kicks off at noon CDT, with Germany vs. Paraguay at 3:30 p.m. and Netherlands vs. Morocco at 8 p.m.
