The LeFlore County Board of County Commissioners approved a lease purchase for a Howe Fire Department truck, transferred receiving officer duties for Summerfield Fire Department, and added 12 bridges to the county’s five-year plan during a regular meeting Monday.
Chairman Jamie Oliver presided over the July 20 meeting, joined by Vice Chair Mike Parker, member Josh Blaylock and County Clerk Kelli Ford.
Commissioners approved a lease purchase agreement between the county, SOS Fire Equipment LLC and First National Bank for a 2010 Ford F350 to benefit Howe Fire Department. The purchase totals $21,785 with a 48-month lease at 6.25 percent interest.
The board also approved a resolution removing Olan Hollan as receiving officer on all Summerfield Fire Department accounts and replacing him with Michael Bradshaw.
Commissioners approved a Detention Center contract agreement for fiscal year 2026-2027 between ROCMND Area Youth Services Inc., Craig County Regional Detention Center and the county regarding juvenile detention services, effective July 1.
The board also approved a resolution establishing procedures for removing dissolved fire departments from eligibility for county fire funding and distributing county funds and assets when a fire department dissolves or ceases operations.
In other business, commissioners approved a resolution adding a bridge bundle to the Circuit Engineering District’s five-year plan. The bundle includes bridges identified by the following National Bridge Inventory numbers: 05229, 06027, 06028, 06029, 06279, 08701, 06011, 06496, 06016, 06327, 06392 and 07095.
Commissioners also approved minutes from the July 13 meeting, purchase orders and payroll, and the monthly fee report presented by the Court Clerk.
The board approved two transfers of appropriations: $5,000 from the Drug Court M&O account to the Drug Court Capital Outlay account, and $1,000 from the Wister Fire Department lease/rental account to the Wister Fire Department M&O account.
No burn ban was needed. No new business, blanket purchase orders or contract labor agreements were presented.
