In LeFlore County sports Friday, Okarche overcame an early deficit to defeat Wister, 4-2, in a Class A state fast pitch softball semifinal game. Okarche advances to Saturday’s finals while the Lady Wildcats were eliminated.

Turning to a big night in football, Poteau pulled off the biggest win of the night, downing Ada, 28-24 in District 4A-4 action. The Pirates improve to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in district play. The loss knocks Ada out of a share of the district lead as the Cougars fall to 2-4 and 2-1. Poteau hosts Stilwell in a big game Thursday as the surprising Indians suffered their first loss to Sallisaw Friday and are tied for second place in the district with the Pirates.

Heavener’s struggles continued Friday as the Wolves fell at the defending Class 3A state champion Lincoln Christians, 55-0, after falling into a huge deficit early. The Wolves are 1-5 overall and 0-3 in district play. Lincoln is 5-1 and 3-0, still leading the district. Heavener hosts Roland in its homecoming game Thursday.

Panama continued to roll, downing Haskell to stay atop the district lead with a 3-3 record overall, 3-0 in district play. The Haymakers fall to 3-3 and 2-1. Panama hosts Coalgate Thursday.

Pocola also stayed on the winning side of things, handing Coalgate its first district loss in a 44-26 victory. The Indians improve to 4-2 and 2-1 heading into Thursday’s home contest with Haskell. Coalgate is 4-2 and 2-1.

Talihina stayed perfect with a 63-0 victory over Porter. The Golden Tigers are 6-0 and 3-0 going into a game at Central Thursday. Porter is 1-5 and 0-3.
