A full schedule of high school football tonight. Hugo is at Heavener, Poteau travels to Broken Bow, Checotah is at Spiro, Vian visits Panama, Hulbert is at Pocola, and Talihina travels to Gore.
It is only the second week of district play, but there are already some big games for LeFlore County teams in what should be a wet field for the first time this season. Games are highlighted by Poteau visiting Broken Bow, Heavener hosting Hugo and Panama at home against Vian.
Poteau travels over Winding Stair Mountain in a bid to stay perfect in district play at Broken Bow, which is coming off a loss last week at Sallisaw. The Pirates are 3-1 and 1-0 while the Savages are 3-1 and 0-1.
Heavener’s annual showdown with Hugo is always a big game with the Wolves winning two of the last three years, including last year. The Wolves are 1-3 and 0-1 after losing to Checotah in the district opener while the Buffaloes are 3-1 and 1-0 in district play.
After both teams opened district play with wins last week, perennial power Vian (2-2, 1-0) visits Panama (1-3, 1-0) in an early showdown between two of the district leaders.
In other games tonight, Spiro will have a tough game when the Bulldogs (0-4 and 0-1) host undefeated Checotah, which is scoring over 51 points per game. Pocola (2-2 and 0-1) will try to get its first district win at home against Hulbert (2-2 and 0-1). And in it our final game tonight, TIn the final county game tonight, Talihina tries to stay perfect as the Golden Tigers (4-0, 1-0) visit Gore (2-2, 0-1).
In fast-pitch softball, Wister plays Amber-Pocasset at noon.

In fall baseball, Wister edged Amber-Pocasset, 3 to 2, before losing to Verden, 2 to nothing.
