Today — Saturday, April 18
After yesterday’s beautiful near-80 degree weather, Saturday is a different story. Light rain is moving through the area this morning and rain chances will stick around through much of the day at around 45 percent. Temperatures will struggle to reach the lower 60s today — a sharp drop of nearly 20 degrees from Friday’s high. If you have Easter weekend outdoor plans today is the day to keep them flexible. A jacket will definitely be needed. Winds will be out of the south at 10 to 12 mph with gusts possible.
The good news is that the rain should gradually taper off through the afternoon and evening, setting the stage for a much nicer Sunday.
Sunday, April 19 — Easter Sunday
Great news for Easter Sunday across LeFlore County — the rain clears out completely and Sunday shapes up to be a very pleasant spring day. Rain chances drop to zero and skies should clear nicely with highs reaching the upper 60s near 68 degrees. It will be a wonderful day for Easter services, family gatherings and outdoor activities. Enjoy the sunshine — it is well deserved after a soggy Saturday.
Monday, April 20 — Warm and Pleasant
Monday continues the improving trend with mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing back into the lower 70s topping out near 73 degrees. Rain chances remain very low at just 10 percent. South winds will keep conditions feeling comfortable and spring-like throughout the day. A great start to the work week for LeFlore County.
Tuesday, April 21
Tuesday looks mostly quiet with highs near 71 degrees and rain chances at only 20 percent. A few clouds are possible but no significant weather is expected. Conditions will be favorable for the Bessie Louise Searles Celebration of Life service at First Baptist Church in Poteau.
Wednesday, April 22
Wednesday rounds out the work week on a warm note with highs reaching the mid 70s near 74 degrees. Rain chances remain at just 20 percent keeping conditions mostly dry across the county.
