LeFlore County weather forecast — Saturday, July 4, 2026

A heat advisory is in effect from noon to 8 p.m. today for Independence Day, with heat index values expected to climb as high as 107 degrees across areas along and north of I-40 in eastern Oklahoma, which includes LeFlore County.

Today, Saturday, July 4 — Hot and humid with a high near 94. A low chance of thunderstorms exists through late evening, then increases overnight. If you’re headed to fireworks or an outdoor celebration, take heat precautions seriously during the afternoon and evening — stay hydrated, seek shade, and watch for signs of heat exhaustion, especially with kids and pets.

Weather forecast

Tonight into Sunday morning — The greater potential for storms develops late tonight into the overnight hours as a storm complex approaches. A marginal severe risk exists mainly north of Interstate 40, with more isolated potential farther south, including LeFlore County. Damaging winds and locally heavy rain are the main threats.

Sunday, July 5 — Rain chances jump to 65 percent as widespread showers and storms move through behind the overnight system. High near 89 — a welcome break from the heat after several days near the mid-90s.

Monday, July 6 — Scattered showers still possible with a 35 percent chance. High near 93 as heat builds back in.

Tuesday, July 7 — Hot and mostly dry returns, with a high near 95 and only a 15 percent rain chance.

The bottom line: Stay heat-safe through this afternoon and evening with the advisory in effect, and keep an eye on the sky again overnight as storms move through. Rain finally breaks the heat by Sunday, though it returns by the middle of next week.
