Lesley Dale Dugan obituary

Celebration of life services for Lesley Dale Dugan, 72, of Spiro, are pending and will be announced at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro.

Dale was born Sept. 24, 1953, in Fort Coffee, to Evelyn (Boatner) Steele and Earnest Steele Sr. She passed away Aug. 14, 2026, in Spiro, at the age of 72.

Dale loved God and treasured her family above all else. Her children and grandchildren were truly her life, and there was nothing that brought her greater joy than spending time with those she loved. She adored each of them and cherished the memories they made together.

She enjoyed playing BINGO, Yahtzee and Spades and was always ready for a good game. Dale also loved watching movies and television, especially Westerns and movies based on true stories. She worked at a rice mill in Houston, Texas, for 10 years in the 1970s. Her love for God, devotion to her family, and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Dale is survived by her husband, Robert Dugan; daughter, Awondrail Steele Simpson and husband Jeffrey; son, Omeyell Steele and friend Laura Smith; grandchildren Te’Kyevius Clayton, Zehndreik Clayton, Lilliana Steele and Ameliah Steele; great-grandchildren Kingston Clayton and Stetson Clayton; sisters Faye Abdullah and Mareen Evans; brothers Earnest Steele Jr. and Chester Steele; best friends April Spears and Carolyn Mills; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Earnest Steele Sr.; sisters Asleen Steele, Joyce Steele and Letha Mae Steele; and brother Louis Manning.
