Loretta (Haney) Turner of Howe was born in Monroe to Richard and Lela (Fortner) Haney and passed away July 25, 2025 at her residence in Howe at the age of 82.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday at the Springhill Baptist Church with Brother Larry Stacy and Pastor Keno King officiating. Burial will follow in the Monroe Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
Loretta, a devoted life-long resident of the area and cherished member of Springhill Baptist Church leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She found joy in her garden, particularly nurturing her beloved roses, and had a passion for canning and crocheting. Known for her lighthearted belief that “zucchini cured everything,” Loretta delighted in sharing her delicious zucchini bread and pie with family and friends. Her warm spirit and dedication to her loved ones will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving family members are two sons Ronald D. Turner and wife Teresa of Oronogo, Missouri, and Steve A. Turner and wife Mischelle of Howe; three grandchildren Jennifer and Josh Short of Asbury, Missouri, Jamie and Collin Howard of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Abbyjo Kay Turner of Howe; four great-grandchildren Justus Short, Jacob Short, Hudson Howard and Harper Howard; one brother, Clarence Haney, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Lela Haney; and her husband, Joe Paul Turner.
