Marilyn (Copeland) Bethell
Marilyn (Copeland) Bethell, 59, of Bokoshe was born July 6, 1965 in Poteau to Charlie and Freda (Ballard) Copeland and passed away at home in Bokoshe with her husband at her side on May 22, 2025 less than a month before their 42nd anniversary.
A memorial service to honor Marilyn’s life is 2 p.m. Saturday at the Summerfield Church of Christ with Brother Tracy Loyd officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
Marilyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed by many and left a trail of good deeds in several states, where she at once called home. She was a mentor and helper to youth and adults that were in need. She put her heart into her children and was a very attentive mom. She was the aunt that many nieces and nephews loved. She provided loving end of life care to her mother-in-law leaving a legacy and respect for her deeds. Most of all she accepted, loved, and believed in God and Jesus Christ’s grace and forgiveness knowing we all fall short of the glory of God. May she rest in peace.
She is survived by her husband, David Bethell; two sons Anthony Bethell and Cody Bethell; one grandson, Adam Bethell; three sisters Judy Anderson, Charlotte Potts and Brenda Fagan; a daughter-in-law, Alexandra “Zan” Bethell; one brother, Tommy Copeland; numerous other loved one and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Freda Copeland; a son, Jayson Bethell; a granddaughter, Kaia Bethell; and a sister, Katy Cunningham.
