Oklahoma falls short

Oklahoma falls short as the No. 9 Sooners’ comeback attempt fell short in the series finale at No. 12 Alabama Sunday in baseball as the Sooners fell 8-6.

After trailing 8-1 through four innings, Oklahoma (22-5, 5-4 SEC) scored the game’s final five runs but couldn’t complete the rally in the ninth and took its first series loss in SEC play.

OU got on the board with a single run in the first. After a pair of walks drawn by Jason Walk and Trey Gambill, sophomore Jaxon Willits ripped an RBI single through the right side to score one. The Crimson Tide limited the damage, leaving runners on the corners.
