OU drops rubber match at Auburn as No. 14 Oklahoma fell 14-4 in eight innings in the decisive game three Sunday at Auburn.

Sooners fall at Auburn

After OU (29-14, 11-10) scored the game’s first two runs in the first inning, the Tigers (30-13, 12-9) outscored the Sooners 14-2 the remainder of the game, including 10 straight from the second through sixth. 

In the first, RBIs from Jaxon Willits and Camden Johnson put the Sooners on the board first. 

The Tigers would go on to score runs in the second, third, fourth, sixth and eighth, including putting up crooked numbers in four innings. OU gave up a season-high six home runs in the game. 

OU scored single runs in the seventh and eighth on a sacrifice fly from Trey Gambill and solo home run by Nolan Stevens. It was Stevens’ fifth of the season.

A four-run bottom of the eighth propelled Auburn to the run-rule win and series victory. 

Sooner starting left-handed pitcher Cord Rager took his second loss of the season, going three innings and surrendering four runs on six hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
