HEAVENER — State Representative Rick West has officially filed for re-election, announcing his campaign to return to the Oklahoma House and continue his work defending the people of House District 3 against government overreach, corporate influence, and special-interest politics.

Rick West files for re-electionWest, a cattleman from LeFlore County, has built a reputation as one of the Legislature’s most conservative voices, and free of outside influence—refusing to take lobbyist gifts or contributions and sponsoring legislation driven directly by constituents, not outside interests.
“I didn’t go to Oklahoma City to make friends with lobbyists or carry water for state agencies,” West said. “I went there to fight for the people back home—and that’s exactly what I intend to keep doing.”
During his time in office, West has taken on some of the most powerful forces at the Capitol, including:
• Fighting utility rate hikes and demanding accountability from regulators
• Opposing corporate immunity schemes that would shield chemical companies from
liability
• Stopping government overreach that threatened Oklahoma hunters’ rights
• Standing against lab-grown meat initiatives that endanger Oklahoma’s agricultural economy
• Supporting policies that protect property rights, reduce waste, and defend rural communities
West’s record reflects a consistent commitment to conservative principles. He earned one of the highest scores in the Legislature on Oklahoma’s Conservative Index and maintains a lifetime average of 97 percent, placing him among the most reliable defenders of limited government and individual liberty.
“Serving in the Legislature is a trust,” West said. “And that trust belongs to the people—not lobbyists, not bureaucrats, and not special interests.”
As part of his re-election effort, West is expanding his outreach to voters through his official campaign website, where constituents can stay informed, share ideas, and get involved in the campaign.
“I want to hear directly from the people I represent,” West said. “The best ideas don’t come from the Capitol—they come from the folks back home.”

West emphasized that his campaign will remain focused on the same principles that have guided his service from the beginning: faith, family, freedom, and a government that answers to the people.
“My loyalty is not for sale,” West said. “It remains right here at home—with the people I represent. And that’s not going to change.”
