Talihina visits Regent Prep on Friday in the biggest game so far this season involving a LeFlore County football team.

Talihina vs. Regent Prep

Both teams are 8-0 overall and 5-0 in District A-II-3 play. The winner takes control of the district championship race and the top playoff seed, while the loser likely enters the postseason as the district runner-up.

The game will be played at 7 p.m. at Regent Stadium.

The teams are familiar opponents. Talihina won their last meeting, 40-13, on Oct. 31, 2025. Regent Prep handed the Golden Tigers their last regular-season loss, 41-26, on Nov. 1, 2024, when Talihina was dealing with injuries to key players.

The Golden Tigers enter Friday riding a 22-game winning streak that includes their 2025 Class A-II state championship. It was the school’s second football state title and its first since 1966.

A key matchup will pit Talihina’s high-powered offense against Regent Prep’s stingy defense. The Golden Tigers average 58.4 points per game, while the Rams allow just eight.

Talihina’s defense and Regent Prep’s offense also have been impressive. The Golden Tigers allow 11.6 points per game, while the Rams average 48.8.

Neither team has faced many close games. Talihina’s narrowest victory was a 61-46 win over Mansfield, Arkansas, in a matchup of defending state champions that was not as close as the final score indicated.

Regent Prep’s closest game was a 33-14 victory at Fairland.
