Thomas “Walker” LeMay, 30, of Heavener was born on April 17, 1996 in Poteau to Eric Wayne LeMay and Angela (Fields) Heavener and passed away in the line of duty on April 19, 2026 in Wister.

Walker’s funeral service to honor his life is 2 p.m. Thursday at the Heavener School Gymnasium with Brother Sam Dyer and Sheriff Rodney Derryberry officiating. Burial will be in the Muse Cemetery with honors by the Tulsa and OKC Police Honor Guard, under the direction and care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener.

Walker was a 2014 graduate of Heavener High School. He was a Deputy for the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Department and was a member of the SWAT Team. Walker was CLEET certified. He was also an officer for the Heavener Police Department. Walker received the Medal of Valor for pulling two people out of a burning house. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Walker lived life to the fullest and spent his last moments serving his community. Outside of wearing his badge Walker was a devoted father to his daughter Blakely and enjoyed taking her fishing, teaching her proper gun safety with her new gun she received for her birthday, binge watching Harry Potter and eating a good steak.

He is survived by his mother and step-father Angie Heavener and husband Joe of Heavener; his father, Eric Wayne LeMay, of Whitesboro; his daughter, Blakely LeMay, of the home; three sisters Erika LeMay and partner Trevor Smith of Red Oak, Jolie Kannady and husband Clayton of Heavener, and Elizabeth LaMay of Whitesboro; two brothers Joey Heavener and wife Mackenzie of Heavener, and C.J. Dean and wife Selena of Poteau; his maternal grandparents Joyce Putman and partner Paul Billings of Heavener; his paternal grandparent, Sue LeMay of Whitesboro; his nieces Holliday Pottridge,  Ella Smith,  Maelee Smith and Rylee Kannady; his nephew, Daxton Kannady; his special friends Heather Moore and son Remington Frederick of Hodgen; his uncles

Steven LeMay and wife Allayna of Whitesboro, and Buck Fields and wife Jayme of Checotah; his aunt Amanda LeMay McCracken and husband Jim of Ochleta; mumerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Ray and Phyllis Heavener of Hodgen; his paternal grandfather, Eric LeMay of Whitesboro; and his uncle, Heathen Lloyd Fields of Muse; his maternal grandparents, Lloyd Fields of  Muse and Freddie Putman of Muse.

The family would like to extend a welcome to all Law Enforcement Agencies to attend Walker’s service.

Pallbearers are Dustin McKinney, Cindy Hicks, Megan Graham, James Necessary, Barry Riggs, and Paul Moss

Honorary pallbearers are LeFlore County Sheriff’s Department and All Law Enforcement Agencies

Viewing will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.; and Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon at the funeral home. 

The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
