MUSKOGEE–The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Billy Wayne Williams, 47, of Wister entered a guilty plea to charges relating to the shooting of a Webbers Falls police officer in March of 2025.
Read more: Wister man pleads guilty in shootingOn April 1, 2026, Williams pleaded guilty to one count of Assault with Intent to Commit Murder in Indian Country, punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine; one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon with Intent to do Bodily Harm in Indian Country, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine; one count of Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury in Indian Country, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, one count of Use, Carry, Brandish, and Discharge of a Firearm During and in Relation to a Crime of Violence, punishable by no less than 10 years consecutive to any other sentence imposed and a $250,000 fine.
